Curiosities
• Dedicated to the producers’ daughter: Sophia was born in 2006, the year of their daughter’s birth, and is dedicated to her.
• Evolution of winemaking: The first vintage included all three white grape varieties used by Cantina Giardino, but over time, the choice of grape has varied each year based on its suitability for long maceration.
• Unique amphorae: The terracotta amphorae used were handcrafted in collaboration with Brancaterra by Gaetano Branca, using clay sourced from Cantina Giardino’s vineyards. The same 13 amphorae have been used since 2006.
• Label by Jonas Mosesson: It features an old woman inside an amphora, symbolizing the wine’s extended maceration.
• Connection with Lambic beer: The pomace from this wine is used to produce Sophia Lambic Beer in collaboration with Cantillon.
